Stop Scams UK partners with BBC for Scam Safe Week: 22 – 28 November 2025

Stop Scams UK is proud to partner with the BBC on Safe Scam Week, a major public awareness initiative designed to help people stay safer from fraud. The collaboration brings together the BBC’s national reach and trusted journalism with Stop Scams UK’s cross-sector expertise in preventing scams at source.

Throughout the week, audiences across BBC TV, radio, online and social channels hear practical advice on how to spot scams, avoid the latest tactics used by criminals, and access trusted help when something doesn’t feel right. Powerful public service campaign

As part of the partnership, Stop Scams UK members contribute expert insight, spokespeople, data and case studies to support the BBC’s programming. The week also highlights the importance of cross-industry collaboration—bringing together banking, telecoms and technology sectors to close down the routes scammers use to target the public.

More information about this powerful BBC public service campaign is available from the BBC.

Customer education

Our members amplify the campaign by carrying the BBC Be Scam Safe messaging through a variety of means such as social media, screens in branches, podcasts and customer education. Some create their own scam awareness adverts and others contribute insight and comment to the BBC programmes during the week.

Members also promote 159, the safe and easy way for their customers to contact their bank if they receive an unexpected call that asks for financial or personal information.
